圓光佛學院院長、圓光佛學研究所所長、圓光禪寺重興住持如悟長老於公元2024年9月18日（農曆八月十六日）下午3時40分於圓光禪寺正道講堂涅槃堂安詳示寂

佛門尊宿如悟長老享耄壽88齡、僧臘65載、戒臘61夏，弱冠之年依睿理和尚剃度出家，1981年秉承開山祖師遺志復辦台灣佛學院，更名為圓光佛學院，成為作育僧伽的教界代表法幢摧折天地同悲法眷。

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Venerable Ru-Wu, the Dean of Yuan Kuang Buddhist College, Director of Yuan Kuang Institute of Buddhist Studies, and the Abbot of the restored Yuan Kuang Chan Monastery.

Venerable Ru Wu entered Nirvana at 3:40 PM on September 18, 2024 (the 16th day of the 8th lunar month) in the Nirvana Hall of the Zheng-dao Lecture Hall at Yuan Kuang Chan Monastery.

The esteemed Buddhist elder, Venerable Ru-Wu, lived to the venerable age of 88, with 65 years in monastic life and 61 years since full ordination. He was ordained as a monk in his early twenties under Venerable Rui-Li. In 1981, following the wishes of the founding master, he re-established the Taiwan Buddhist College, renaming it Yuan Kuang Buddhist College.

He became a pillar in the Buddhist community, dedicated to nurturing monastic talents. His passing is a great loss to the Dharma, and both heaven and earth mourn the fall of this Dharma banner.

In accordance with his compassionate instructions, no print formal obituary will be issued, and no eulogy service will be held.
A memorial service to express gratitude and remembrance will be held at 8:30 AM , October 7, 2024 (Mon.)

in the Zheng-jue Hall of the Yuan Kuang Cultural and Educational Center.
